Welcome to Truffle2Hunt. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you about how we handle your personal information when you use our mobile application (hereafter "the App"), and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

Truffle2Hunt is an application designed for truffle hunters, enabling registration of PH measurements, GPS locations and other relevant data related to truffle hunting.

Important note about privacy:

You have full control over your data. You can choose to save your measurements and locations only locally on your device (Private Maps) or share them with the community (Social Maps). We only collect data that you explicitly choose to share.

2. What Data Is Collected By The Device

2.1 Data Stored Only On Your Device (Not Shared)

  • Truffle spots: Locations where you have found truffles - saved ONLY locally on your device
  • Training areas and markers: Polygons and markers you create - saved ONLY locally on your device
  • Private Maps measurements: All measurements you choose to save as "Private Maps" - saved ONLY locally on your device and NEVER shared

2.2 Data You Can Choose To Share (Social Maps)

  • PH measurements: Soil PH value (only if you select "Social Maps")
  • GPS coordinates: Precise coordinates where measurements are taken (only if you select "Social Maps")
  • Timestamps: Date and time for each recording (only if you select "Social Maps")
  • Area type: Your classification (public/private area)
  • User ID: A unique, anonymized identifier generated by the app (used to identify your measurements)

2.3 Data We Collect Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version
  • Log data: Error reports and crash logs to improve the app
  • Usage statistics: Anonymized data about app usage for analysis purposes

2.4 Website Tracking (Google Analytics)

When you visit our website (truffle2hunt.com), we use Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about your use of the website. This helps us improve the website and understand how visitors use it.

What Google Analytics collects:

  • Visit data: Which pages you visit, how long you stay, and how you navigate the website
  • Technical information: Browser type, device type, screen resolution, and operating system
  • Geographic data: General geographic location (city level, not precise address)
  • Traffic sources: Where you came from (search engine, direct link, etc.)

Important: Google Analytics does NOT collect personally identifiable information such as name, email, or precise address. All data is anonymized and aggregated.

The app requires access to your device's GPS to function properly. We use your location to:

  • Record precise coordinates for your measurements
  • Display your position on the map
  • Calculate distances and areas

You can disable location permissions at any time in your device settings, but this will limit the app's functionality.

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • To save and display your PH measurements and truffle spots
  • To visualize your data on interactive maps
  • To synchronize your social measurements between devices
  • To display others' public measurements on the social map

3.2 App Improvement

  • Analysis of app usage to identify improvements

4. Data Sharing

4.1 Social Maps (Voluntary Sharing)

When you choose to save a measurement as "Social Maps", the following data becomes visible to other users:

  • PH value
  • GPS coordinates
  • Timestamp
  • Area type

Your user ID remains anonymized and is not displayed to other users.

4.2 Private Maps (Not Shared)

Measurements saved as "Private Maps" are saved only locally on your device and are never shared with others or uploaded to our servers.

4.3 Third Parties

We do NOT sell, rent or exchange your personal data to third parties. We only share data with:

  • Google Maps API: For map display (subject to Google's privacy policy)
  • Google Analytics: To analyze website usage and improve user experience. Google Analytics collects anonymized data about visits to truffle2hunt.com. See Google's Privacy Policy for more information.
  • Hosting services: To store social measurements (encrypted and protected)
  • Analytics services: Anonymized usage data for app improvement
  • Legal requirements: If required by law or court order

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Where Is Your Data Stored?

  • Locally on your device: All private measurements and app settings
  • On our servers: Only social measurements you explicitly share
  • Server location: EU (GDPR-compliant hosting)

5.2 How Long Is Data Stored?

  • Local data: Until you delete the app or manually delete measurements
  • Social measurements: Until you delete them through the app or request deletion
  • Backup data: 30 days after deletion (then permanently deleted)

5.3 Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures:

  • Encrypted data transfer (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure database with access control
  • Regular security updates
  • Anonymization of user ID
  • Backup and disaster recovery procedures

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to receive confirmation of whether we process personal data about you, and if so, gain access to this information.

You can delete your measurements through the app or request complete deletion of all your data by contacting us.

6.4 Right to Data Portability

You can export your data in a structured, commonly used format through the app's settings.

You can object at any time to the processing of your personal data.

You can withdraw your consent to data processing at any time by disabling social maps or deleting the app.

7. Security

We take the security of your data very seriously, but remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

What We Do:

  • Use secure authentication and access control
  • Monitor for security threats
  • Regularly update our systems
  • Limit employee access to data

What You Can Do:

  • Keep your device updated with latest security updates
  • Use screen lock on your device
  • Don't save sensitive locations as social maps
  • Report suspicious activity to us immediately

8. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@truffle2hunt.com. We will delete this information from our servers within 48 hours.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Displaying the updated policy in the app
  • Sending a push notification (for significant changes)

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing or using the Truffle2Hunt app ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the App.

2. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these terms.

3. User Obligations

You agree to:

  • Use the App in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not share false or misleading information
  • Respect other users' privacy and rights
  • Not use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes
  • Not attempt to hack, reverse-engineer or compromise the App
  • Respect private property and get permission before entering private areas

4. Social Maps - Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Information shared by other users on Social Maps is user-generated content. We:

  • Do NOT guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted data
  • Are NOT responsible for damages arising from use of this information
  • Do not actively moderate content, but remove inappropriate content after reporting
  • Encourage use of your own judgment and verification of data

5. Private Property and Legislation

Truffle hunting may be subject to various rules and laws depending on your location. You are responsible for:

  • Knowing and complying with local laws about truffle hunting
  • Getting permission to enter private property
  • Respecting protected natural areas
  • Acting responsibly and sustainably

The App only facilitates data documentation and does not make you immune to local laws.

6. No Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • That the App will be error-free or continuously available
  • That data will always be accurate or reliable
  • That the App will meet your specific needs
  • That servers will be secure or free from viruses

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for:

  • Loss of data or content
  • Indirect, incidental or consequential damages
  • Damages arising from use or inability to use the App
  • Damages arising from use of user-generated content

8. Updates and Changes

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the App (or parts thereof) with or without notice
  • Update these terms at any time
  • Refuse service to anyone for any reason

9. Intellectual Property Rights

The App and its original content, features and functionality are and remain Truffle2Hunt's exclusive property. The App is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Danish law. Any disputes shall be resolved by Danish courts.
